Every instructor undergoes a Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Record Check and agrees to follow GPLT’s Safety and Inclusion Policy prior to the start of camp to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
Is lunch available at the camps?
Students must bring their own nut-free lunch each day. Refrigeration and reheating options are available if needed!
Do you offer bursary programs?
Yes! We offer financial assistance for lower-income families to help cover program fees. For more information, please contact contact@gpltrisingstars.com.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Full refund will be issued if cancellation is received a minimum of 14 days prior to the camp start date. After such date, there will be NO REFUNDS or REIMBURSEMENTS given for camps. Only exchanges for other camps will be permitted.
The Grande Prairie Live Theatre will consider requests for partial refunds of program fees after the deadlines on a case-by-case basis for students withdrawing under exceptional circumstances. Additional documentation will be required for students seeking consideration for a refund after the no refund deadlines.
What are camp hours?
Site supervision is from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM. The program runs from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
What do the children do all day?
Each day begins with a group warm-up led by our instructors, followed by morning workshops focused on theatrical skills such as acting, movement, improvisation, and character creation. Afternoons are dedicated to rehearsing and developing a play that will be performed at the end of the week for family and friends.
Lunch breaks offer time for relaxation, games, or self-led activities. Depending on the specific camp theme (e.g., improv, musical theatre), activities include tailored exercises, skill-building, and practical applications.
There are daily highlights throughout the week, which include auditions, movie day with popcorn, professional headshots, camp shirt signing, the final performance, and more to be announced!
